The Infiniti M56 Is A Real Contender In The Luxury Market

The luxury segment is one of the toughest markets in the auto industry. Competition is fierce and there are many car makers that have a vehicle in the full size luxury sedan segment. The Infiniti M56 is up against the top luxury cars from BMW, Mercedes Benz, Audi, Lexus and Acura just to name a few. The older M56 was known as the M45 and was not well received by consumers. In the past Infiniti did not do enough to separate the M45 from the rest but it looks as if that’s all changed with the all new M56.

In the past the M56 has been frequently overshadowed by Infiniti’s G35 and G37 Autel MaxiSys MS908. For 2010 the Infiniti M56 has a base price of $58k. This has car been revamped inside out and now it now has the fit and finish the Germans have been known for, and Infiniti has out a V8 engine inside the M56 worthy of its German rivals. The M56 surpasses the 60mph mark in a scant 4.7 seconds due to its powerful engine boasting a 420 hp. For comparison last year’s model took almost a full second longer to reach a 60 mph. The Infiniti M56 accelerates faster than any of its competitors.

Infiniti created a luxury ride even though the car was meant to handle. 20-inch rims, firm springs, and double-piston shocks. If this sounds like the it would be rough, well it isn’t. This car is smooth and quiet, just like a luxury car should be. With the new M56 you get the chance to select 4 various driving modes. First there is the Eco mode which conserves fuel. The Snow mode is self explanatory, the standard mode is regular all around drive setting, and finally The Sport mode improves all power and gear shifting for the best performance.

There are optional, such as the $3,000 technology package which gives you a lane departure prevention system, blind spot alert, and radar adaptive cruise control. Next there is also a $3800 touring package which adds luxury items such as a Bose stereo system, wood trim, and a cabin air system which in essence is just a fan that blows air at random speeds like the tropical setting on your fan at home. Then there is the Big Daddy Sport Package at $3600. This sweet package comes with four wheel steering, a sporty suspension, huge 20 inch rims with summer tires, and a trick sport steering wheel.

When it comes to performance and acceleration the M56 kicks butt. The 400 hp V-8 can rocket the M56 zero to 60 4.7 seconds as aforementioned, and the quarter mile is eclipsed in 13.4 seconds, which is just a tiny bit off pace from the awesome Ford Mustang GT and the Camaro SS muscle car Autel MaxiSys Pro. All that muscle wrapped in a luxury car. The M56 can also post a 0.86g on skid pad.

Compared to its rivals the Lexus GS460, Jaguar XF, and the Mercedes E550, The M56 definitely has them all beat. The only drawback is that the M56 is also the most expensive of the group. Pluses are that it can out accelerate, out brake and out corner them all. Plus, the Infiniti M56 has the best fuel economy in the class. Infiniti has produced an incredible car that is extremely competitive in the luxury market.

Small Cars Making Big Splashes at Auto Shows

Since gasoline hit $4 per gallon in the summer of 2008, small cars and hybrids have surged in popularity. Until recently that is and now all car sales have flattened somewhat.

Many people are holding onto their automobiles longer and fixing them in transmission shops and car repair establishments rather than buying new Autel MaxiSys Pro. But, what has some car fans all riled up recently are the small cars that are appearing at the New York Auto Show.

Models such as the Toyota Scion iQ, Volkswagen Golf VI and Fiat 500 are turning heads. Suddenly the Toyota Yaris and Ford Focus have a little competition.

The Scion iQ is particularly enigmatic at only 10 feet, 7-inches long from front to rear bumper. The 3-seater iQ is only two feet longer than the Smart Fortwo.

On the other hand, the Volkswagen Golf VI took the World Car of the Year award and is now on sale in Europe. The U. S. rollout of this car is unclear at this point in time.

The U. S. rollout of the Fiat 500 is also uncertain as the automotive financial crisis has hit the automaker hard. But, the problem with small cars is that they simply wonꊰ work for some consumers.

Soccer moms with kids jumping around, sports equipment to haul along with Girl Scout cookies and other fundraiser items to carry need larger vehicles for their lifestyles ds808. With the push for greener and more fuel efficient vehicles recently this will need to come from technology.

A greater number of larger vehicles will need to increase fuel mileage through more advanced engine technology or from becoming hybrids. But, that said, the emphasis on downsizing vehicles in the big picture scope of things is here to stay for a while.

Solar energy, wind turbines and smaller green cars are the trend and automakers must adapt quickly. According to the New York Auto Show, the automakers are doing just that.

Svedino’s Automobile and Aviation Museum

Svedino’s Automobile and Aviation Museum is located in Sweden and features one of Europe’s most extensive collections of vintage automobiles and aeroplanes Autel MaxiSys Pro. When it officially opened in 1961, it was the first automobile museum in Scandinavia. The museum contains 140 cars and thirty aeroplanes together with a variety of engines, household gadgets and miscellany. Yet the entire museum was largely the work of one man, Lennart Svedfelt. Svedfelt, in addition to being a car collector was also an actor whose stage name was Svedino, the origin of the name of the museum. Svedino supported the museum by playing roles of a ‘pickpocket’ and conjuror at circuses, on stage and on TV. He joked about his performances as a “pickpocket” saying “I began to “steal” my way toward getting my museum.

Svedfelt, who was born in 1924, built model airplanes as a young boy in school and had an exhibition in the Stockholm Library when he was seventeen. He started his first business in October of 1942 manufacturing model airplanes kits that were sold throughout Sweden.

In 1949, he bought a 1919 Model T Ford and soon after he began to appreciate the historical value of vintage automobiles. By 1953 he had collected five cars that were the subject of an article in the local newspaper. As a result of this article, people started contacting him telling him where he could find old cars and his collection increased.

However, he now had a problem finding a place to store the vehicles. In 1957, he rented his collection that now amounted to twenty cars, to an open-air museum. Then film companies started to rent them. In 1958 he moved his collection to a circus tent. Finally in 1960, after exhibiting the cars at Expo North, Svedfelt acquired a plot of land in Halland country where he could now erect a building. The museum finally opened in 1961 on June 20th. At that time it received considerable interest from the local press as it was Scandinavia’s first automobile museum. Thirty-five cars were displayed in an area of 550 square meters. A Swedish 1905 Tidaholm was the oldest car in the collection. It had a chain-drive, wooden wheels with huge tires and could be driven at a top speed of 15 miles per hour. There was also a 1928 Volvo. The most luxurious car on display was a 1918 American Pierce-Arrow that, at the time it was built was the equivalent of an English Rolls-Royce.

In 1964 Svedfelt was able to increase his display area from 550 square meters to 800 square meters. He now had fifty cars and added the first airplanes maxisys elite scan tool, a 1925 German Heinkel and a 1926 English De Havilland Moth.

Then in 1970, the museum was again enlarged to 2000 square meters and the cars and airplanes that had been stored in barns due to lack of space could now be displayed. The collection now comprised ninety cars and fourteen airplanes together with old bicycles, motorcycles and some horse drawn carriages. Another extension of 1000 square meters was done in 1980 more displays were added. In 1986 the collection then included 140 cars, 31 airplanes plus motorcycles and carriages.
